源自古英语 stybb(树桩),与古诺尔斯语 stubbr 同源,最终源自原始日耳曼语 stubjaz。动词用法始见于16世纪,由名词引申而来。
❶ 指被砍断或折断后剩下的短小部分,如树桩、铅笔头等。也可指残缺不全的东西。
